Well hello everyone and welcome to a very wet Saskatchewan day! Tonight I'd like to tell you about a young lady who won first and third place in the "youth" 12 to 18 year old category at the Sask Am photo competition http://saskam.ca/. Her name is Olivia Gergely and she is my youngest daughter.
Now why did I name this blog entry "a chip off the old block"? The answer is simple. Both Olivia and I placed first in our respective categories (I was awarded "best of show" in the 2010 Sask Am photo competition). I can't begin to tell you how proud I am of my 12 year old daughter Olivia. With some guidance I'm hoping one day she'll be a better photographer than her dear old dad!
If you'd like to see her winning photos they are on display with everyone else's work at the Golden Mile Shopping Center in Regina.
That's all I have for this week so thanks for visiting. I'd also like to mention I have added a new page to my website. I have done weddings in the past but I hadn't advertised formally until now. The pertinent details can be found by following this link or by navigating from the home page of the website.
Until next week stay dry and warm. Next week I'll report on my experience at a portrait workshop I am attending on Tuesday in Calgary with Clay Blackmore. Can't wait!
