Good day everyone and to all the Dads and Step dads out there happy Father's Day! I hope you were treated to an extra special day and maybe got something other than a tie today! Does anyone still get a tie for father's day anymore? Forgive me I digress.
So on to the topic of today's blog entry. As the title suggests I'd like to tell you about my weekend with a couple of friends of mine and our trip out toward southern Saskatchewan. We drove out to Moose Jaw Friday night and went out for a bite to eat then the next morning we set out north west to Douglas Provincial park to photograph the Lake Diefenbaker sand dunes. Our original plan was to then drive south toward Kayville SK. and check out some of the ghost towns in the area but mother nature suggested otherwise. Instead we decided to make the best of it and we spent the evening in Moose Jaw. We dined at "Deja Vu" a funky restaurant with fantastic high calorie food and after that we set out to shoot around the downtown core.
Now first off our experience shooting the sand dunes Saturday morning was top notch. There was sandy desert and hills along with the odd tree and shrub but it did make for some compelling images. After spending the morning and afternoon shooting the dunes it was back to Moose Jaw for some night shooting around the city's downtown core. Now you may think "what is there to shoot in downtown Moose Jaw on a Saturday night?" and the answer is plenty! I have shared some of my favorite images from the evening and there are plenty more I did not include.
To sum up the trip I had a great time and I was in great company. Thanks Shawn and Chad for a really fun outing. I had a total blast!
Until next week stay dry and warm. The extended weather forecast is calling for more rain. Summer where are you???
